We recently completed a project upgrading our clients' goods lift which was causing significant interruptions to their operations due to old and worn equipment.
We on a comprehensive lift modernisation, utilising high-end, globally renowned components. The work was completed in three key stages: door system upgrade, hydraulic power pack replacement, and controller changeover.
Stage 1: Upgrade Existing Door System
- The existing lift car door system was fully removed and replaced with a Wittur Group AMD Car Door Operator, a leading non-proprietary system manufactured in Germany, ensuring durability and smooth operation.
- The Wittur door operator was seamlessly integrated into the lift car through custom-designed adaptor brackets, preserving the original car door panels and sill.
- New Wittur Group AMD landing door mechanisms were installed for each of the three landings, with the original door panels and sills retained for aesthetic consistency.
Extensive wiring modifications were made to adapt the existing infrastructure to the new German door system, and a pit egress device was installed for code compliance.
Stage 2: Replace Hydraulic Power Pack
- The existing hydraulic power pack was replaced with a Hyspec Hydraulic Power Pack, incorporating Blain Hydraulics Valves, a globally recognised leader in hydraulic control components.
- A full hydraulic oil replacement was carried out, and the existing hydraulic lines were adapted to the new system, ensuring a smooth transition and optimal performance.
- The machine room was updated with a fresh coat of paint, enhancing the working environment and overall presentation.
Stage 3: Change Over Controller
- The original lift controller was decommissioned and replaced with a state-of-the-art Schneider Steuerungstechnik GmbH Lisa 20 Solid State Controller, built locally by Melbourne Elevators using Schneider components. - This high-tech controller offers exceptional reliability and control precision.
- The entire lift machine room was rewired to accommodate the new system, and a new distribution board with safety features was installed. Emergency lighting and machine room lighting were also upgraded.
- Key upgrades include the installation of a new trailing cable, an absolute encoder for accurate floor levelling, and modern lift car and landing operating panels with updated indicators and buttons.
This project highlights the integration of advanced equipment from leading manufacturers: Schneider Steuerungstechnik GmbH Electric components built in Melbourne, Wittur Group doors from Germany, and the Blain Hydraulics Valves in the Hyspec Hydraulic Power Pack. The modernisation ensures superior performance, long-term reliability, and compliance with the latest safety standards, positioning this lift system at the forefront of high-end installations.
